About the ATTPProviding New BeginningsWalter Reed Army Medical Center’s Equal Employment Opportunity Office, in partnership with the Department of Defense Computer Electronic/Accommodations Program (CAP), the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), state and local disability placement services and a large number of private sector employers, is providing an assistive technology (AT) and information technology (IT) certification training program for OIF/OEF soldiers. The ATTP’s mission is to provide a viable vocational training program in order to assist the medical departments in providing new beginnings. By receiving AT, IT certifications, and/or corporate mentoring during rehabilitation and recovery, wounded Service members can better determine their future employment goals and objectives. Assistive Technology Training CenterThe ATTP created the AT Training Center (ATTC) in WRAMC Building 11, Room 1-107, to provide a computer lab and classroom environment for the program offerings. Assistive technology needs assessments, IT certification training classes, resume workshops, mentoring meetings, and other program activities occur on a daily basis at the ATTC. |
